What is the minimum Brendan Rodgers must achieve next season?
    May 28, 2014

Expectation in football is a funny, fickle thing. Arguably, there exists no club at which the pressure is greater than Liverpool. The history, prestige and success at Anfield is almost unrivalled, and the desire to regain domination is unique. However, the Reds do not have a reputation as a particularly expectant club – at least not in the way that the likes of Tottenham Hotspur or West Ham United do!

Last season wasn’t a complete surprise, but it was a pleasant one. Brendan Rogers steered Liverpool to an eventual second place in the league and a comfortable return to Champion’s League qualification. The SAS partnership of Sturridge and Suarez was the best front-line in the league by a distance, and the exciting English talent on show on Merseyside was keeping supporters smiling.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

When Brendan Rodgers entered the post-match press conference following Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Stoke City and joked about the Reds being top of the league, he laughed, the media laughed and the world laughed.

A harmless joke that bared more significance as the season wore on, the Reds would spent a total of 58 days at the league's summit throughout the campaign.

"Progression" was a word banded around Anfield during Rodgers' debut season at the helm, per Neil Jones of The Liverpool Echo, but during the manager's second season it became more than a word, as the Reds fought tooth and nail to end their long wait for their 19th league title.

Let's see the players first, need a new keeper new lb, new ch, a real dm, bench strength in each key area while keeping the diamonds of last season.

Signings are critical. This is where he will make or break next year's aspirations which in my opinion have to be a) minimum top 4 and b) a decent showing (q finals or better) in any one of the cup competitions. Last year, Arsenal got away in the FA Cup at Emirates when Suarez was blatantly fouled in front of that pug Howard Webb. Had that call been given...well...who knows...but it was a penalty. Either way, TOP 4 is a MUST, more than that will depend on how much FSG give him to spend.

8 years ,sad that Arsenal fans cant even boast about it.Presssha on the youth coach as it should be ,can he compete on 3 fronts, the prem ,cl and fa cup.

This season you will seee a true valuation of the youth coach.
