Karl R9 is bad yes but I think that if he had stayed longer in Brasil he would have equaled Pele (have a post to make on Pele sometime next week). R9's power and speed with both feet can only be matched with that of Pele. Where Pele leaves R9 is in head shot and peripheral vision (and it makes a gap).
This video shows that Brasil was about to build a dynasty; they won in 94 and the talent loaded team came back to the finals in 98 (notice who they had to attack in terms of talent) then 2002 Bebeto dropped out but Dinho was there and the rest is history. In 06 the pattern was not kept. Binho as young talent was relegated to the bench. They kept looking to R9 and Dinho was off. Binho was the live wire that could have pushed Brasil to the final in 06. Then in 2010 it was Binho alone. To be honest I did not see Neymar play until after the WC10 (one game and I said yes he's legit).
Now Brasil is in 2014; I hope you see the pattern.
