RB Leipzig, the controversial German soccer club, has been given a license to compete in Bundesliga 2 next season after meeting certain conditions set by the German Football Leagues (DFL). Among them is a change in the team logo, and changes in the corporate structure of the club.
RB Leipzig, formed by the person who owns the Red Bull energy drink empire,
earned promotion to the German Bundesliga 2 for the 2014-15 season after finishing in second place in Liga 3, the German third division.
RB Leipzig joins Erzebirge Aue as the only teams from the former East Germany
in the top two leagues. Two other East German teams, Dynamo Dresden and Energie Cottbus, finished at the bottom of Bundesliga 2 this season and will be relegated to Liga 3.
