Just fyi, the Trelawny stadium does not have a track.
"Yup! ...all the talk about the new arena becoming a 'white elephant' is talk generated by people who lack vision and or are timid souls!" - not true, Karl. We know how we are. Prophecies saying that it will go to waste are well-founded! I guess you are going to blame John Public for allowing it to lie idle.

...and, basketball courts too? ...what other thing could we put in? Swimming pools? Boxing arena?...
...more surronding acres need to be acquired to expand the complex???
Sooooooo what...the base is there, work with and on it!!!!
As some say...rightly say, without vision the people perish!"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

May be ideal for dormitories and classrooms...and a football academy? ...center of excellence? ...headquarters for a Trelawny FA...a regional sporting body? ...a Sports Tourism promotional (...and, more...) body?

Karl, unless a plan can be worked out for the use and maintenance of the "Trelawny Sports Complex", as you have envisaged, I would be against lifting one cubic yard of earth to build anything more there. We are notorious for allowing buildings to decay and with the economy the way it is, things will not get any better any time soon.
If you, blinded by your incredible vision, can't stop for a moment to think practically, then so be it. But please don't put ideas into our heads for some politician go run wid, in search of cheap votes, only to see this white elephant give birth to even more white elephants.
If this place were in the middle of Montego Bay, it would be bad and not so bad, but for the ordinary Jamaican boxing aspirant to trek out to this place, in the middle of nowhere, in order to train...won't happen!
This area is earmarked for some major development in the next few years. Right now, let's chill with what we have and see if we can prevent the grass from outgrowing the top tier seats.
