Coppa Italia Preview: Fiorentina v Napoli
    1 May 2014

Rafael Benitez will look to crown his first year with Napoli with a trophy when they face Fiorentina in Saturday's Coppa Italia final.

The Spaniard took over at the Stadio San Paolo last May after Walter Mazzarri left to join Inter.

He has enjoyed relative success in his maiden season Napoli, all but securing a return to the UEFA Champions League for next season, a competition from which they suffered a narrow exit in the group stages this term.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

As Italian teams continue to struggle in European competitions, the Napoli coach suggests Spanish, German and English leagues have superior match speed

BET=NapoliNAP£13.3DRAW£47.5CagliariCAG£85PaddyP owerNapoli boss Rafa Benitez believes that Serie A suffers in Europe because Italian football is not based around a fast tempo as other leagues are.

Only once in six seasons has an Italian team (Inter in 2009-10) reached the last four of the Champions League, while Juventus, AC Milan and Napoli all crashed out this season before the quarter-final stage.

Lothar Matthaus praised Napoli’s campaign, assuring they are “admired in Europe and Rafa Benitez is a master.”

The former Inter and Germany star spoke to CalcioNapoli24 about his impressions of the Partenopei.

“Benitez is a Coach with a successful CV and great experience, plus he is a tireless worker and a master of tactics,” said Matthaus.

        Napoli showing promise, says Benitez
        1 May 2014

Napoli head coach Rafael Benitez believes his side's progression to the Coppa Italia final is a sign of the club's promise.

The Stadio San Paolo outfit booked their place in Saturday's showpiece with Fiorentina by coming from behind to beat Roma 5-3 over two legs back in February
