Sub-plot: Attack Mertesacker within final third and if possible entering the penalty-area.
Mix diagonal balls to either side of Mertesacker = beat him on pace to the ball and 'taking him on directly'=dribble straight at him and attempt to beat him = his slow feet shall not catch up.
