  • Oh, to have a clinical striker like Suarez playing for the

Boyz. (Keep the bad behaviour and the cheating!)

I think we were raised believing strikers should not just have powerful kicks but they should always score in that fashion. One of the best finishes over the weekend was Eto'o's pass into the goal for Chelsea's first. And none of Suarez' goals were powerhouses, in the way Fernandinho's was.

What can be so difficult to train such a player with this skill and awareness?! Or to keep the ball down and not have it hit one of those buildings in Lizard Town?! Yeah, I know, the field is a factor, but still!

    Sigh

It is not hard to teach that skill.
Problem is we never teach 'passing into goal' - soft or powerhouse kick. We just leave the players to 'duh a ting'...with encouraging words from the teachers/coaches - "shoot nuh man!" or "wah mek yuh neva shoot"...followed with the put down, "ow yuh mis dat? Cho?!"

Karl, Jamaica has an abundance of football talent. Talent abounds at every position...strikers inc. This is a non-topik:
