There were more than a few raised eyebrows last week when Jose Mourinho ripped into Sam Allardyce for his '19th century' approach to stifling Chelsea.
Considering the manager's penchant for killing games, it did seem rather rich given the Blues were off to Manchester City in a matter of days.
'Jose practically invented parking the bus,' Allardyce laughed in the aftermath. But the way in which Chelsea went about beating City on Monday night was a thing of beauty.
Few men behind the ball, players being thrown forward on the counter and Eden Hazard central to everything. The Belgium star's direct running was breathtaking - something that gives Chelsea a crucial out-ball.
However, on first glance the statistics indicate that Yaya Toure bossed proceedings.
The central midfielder completed more than double the passes of Hazard, had a larger pass completion and his percentage accuracy in the attacking half was better. All by a distance.
