Just watched -this morning a few hours ago - the 1st half of the U-20 Mexico vs Jamaica match.
In terms of basic shape we were not bad. yes, the Mexicans 'haul and pulled' that shape using their a) quickness - reaction time, speed across ground and thought and b) superior technical ability...but, the way the boys tried...the things they tried to put in action, suggested they were well coached where organisation was concerned.
But you could be taught on field organisation until you are blue in the face...when you meet vastly...VASTLY SUPERIOR opponents in terms of the technical ability and the thinking you are going to be whipped. Our U-20 was down 1-0 at the half and it could have been 4-0!
A coaches can over time deliver our national players to the national coach with excellent technical ability...but, once the whistle goes no coach can think through the game second through second...for the players.
