    Youth coach out coached by his Master

    Funny hearing them allued to him in the commentary as just that ...lol..any way..Henderson, Allen & Coutinho are tactically out of it.Put it at the youth coach feet.

    Henderson should be supporting the forwards, instead the youth coach has him in a defensive posture , he doesnt pressure Luiz who is creating havoc with his passes being able to set up the counter attack.

    Allen he just isnt in it,the support to Henderson or Lucas is neglible.That again is attributed to the youth coach having Henderson in a defensive posture chasing balls, leaving Allen clueless, he is too close to Lucas and Henderson to contribute anything.

    Coutinho- isnt pressing the wings like Sterling and he is weak on the defensive end.

    Conclusion , Chelsea will boss the middle, putting us more under pressure,probably more goals or cards unless the youth coach tactically adjust by moving Henderson to a more attacking posture and demanding Coutinho pressure the wings by attacking and defending and place Allen as the passing link between Lucas and Henderson.

    Timid posture.

      What did you want him to do X? The tyre is already bare for Liverpool. BR had to use what he had available to him.

      Anyway, my thought of the game prior to the match. I said to myself that Chelsea had to just find a way to keep Suarez quiet and out of the game. I went on to say that Liverpool cannot match us in the middle of the field. We only needed to score a couple goals and then play "big man" ball and we would have things under control.

      I was surprised to see Mourinho start Eto'o in this game after his three close misses in the previous match. I guess it paid off however as Eto'o got the winner.

        Alberto and Aspas two midfielders that cost 15 mill, get over looked for kid that has never played Prem ball in one of the biggest games of our season?

          Much "Freddy Ado" about nothing! I have seen Chelsea play Nathan Ake, a 18 year old in Champions League when they had excessive injuries and suspensions. The coach has to be able to assess his situation and chose the best option he has in his opinion. To him, the 19 year old Australian born Englishman was his best option.

              BTW X, Rodgers made a like for like change by bringing on Brad Smith, despite his tender age. Smith is a midfielder with lightening pace while Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas are both forwards.

              Give Rodgers some credit. He just ran into a better team on the day.

                Liverpool did well. playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge wasn't going to be easy. Chelsea haven't lost a EPL game there all season. A little more luck and Pool would come away with a point.

                When you have Gerrard out injured, and his back up Joe Allen injured, what are you going to do???? Tough loss but repect to Pool.

                  They did well. I was surprised to see how Chelsea neutralized Luis Suarez throughout the game. I thought that was one battle Chelsea had to do if they wanted to come out ahead in this match up.

                    Both have played the attacking midfield position for pool in the past, the kid gloves will slowly come off from the media with this youth coach, he has a holiday schedule his sales and purchases have been questionable, his tactical acumen is questionable.

                    Saurez and to a lesser extent Sturridge has masked that midfield problem, its glaring as we saw today.

                      True but if you had a fit Sturridge I think you would have more problem on your hand but Chelsea play him well, using Luiz and other midfielder when he drops back and then Terry etc. pick him up when he is up top.

                        I would be more concerned with a fit Gerrard than Sturridge. Truth he was on a roll and scoring some goals before he got injured and his link up with Suarez was excellent. I think Liverpool really lost the battle in midfield and not up front.

                          I think when you pay so much attention to Suarez, Sturridge could burn you, but no doubt they miss Gerrard.

                            I had said before entering these last four games that 6 of the 12 points on offer I would be happy with. After winning the first two my expectations increased but I will take these six points... hopefully, with a little rest LFC can get back on a winning track.

                            BUT, I see Hull, who just give another team six, is the next opponent. Normally, I would expect a positive result here but the adrenalin will be in plenty supply in the Hull camp so I don't expect an easy time... and of course Everton at the end of the month whom it would be great to beat, but again, they will not be asy especially now that they smell CL blood.

                            All in all, I must say I am enjoying the football in this year's EPL much more than I have in a long time given that the title race is as volatile as it is. Even the unmentionables are in with a (slight) chance.

                              That could be true, although I feel you would have to be winning the midfield battle for that to happen. The way Chelsea dominated in the middle of the park, Sturridge would be ineffective just as Suarez was. Now if they had Gerrard to change the midfield balance, things would be different.
