<P class=big>Middlesbrough have agreed terms with Charlton for the transfer of Jason Euell.
The Jamaican international has decided for a fresh challenge after five years at The Valley and will now in all likelihood make the switch to The Riverside before Thursday's transfer deadline.
Boro boss Gareth Southgate has been eager to add to his ranks and has beaten off competition from other Premiership sidesto land Euell's services.
Watford, Wigan, and Portsmouth were all mooted as suitors but with Euell having been given permission to speak to Middlesbrough, Southgate is very much in the driving seat to land his man.
"We have been given permission to discuss personal terms with Middlesbrough football club," Euell's advisor Tony Finnigan told skysports.com.
"We will now hold talks and the player will have a medical."
In what is likely to be a busy few days for Southgate, the signings of Euell, Robert Huth and Jonathan Woodgate will all hope to be rubber stamped before Thursday's cut-off point.
