  • Can anyone answer this question?

How long has it been since the JFF has 'opened' its 'coaching school' i.e. introduced its teaching and certification of its taught coaches?

    Thank you.

    Hi Karl,

In 2006, 2008,09,10 and 11 I was doing coaching courses in Manchester, Kingston and St. Andrews and MoBay. Knowing and hearing of the success of our GSM Course Howard McIntosh, then JFF Technical Committed Director, thought this would be a good thing for the JFF to start their own coaching ed programs for coaches and I think in 2010 seeing that we had over 450 coaches take GSM International Coaching Education courses they we are their way starting with local coaches.

I brought several international coaches as well to help me some of these courses. They were from Canada, Scotland and USA. In fact one such course was Goalkeeping and one of my good friends who does football ed for the SFA and who is the Glasgow Rangers FC GK coach did this course. Howard heard he was in Jamaica asked me he could do another for the JFF and we agreed. Few showed up. We stopped doing them publically, so there would be no conflict of interest and to let the JFF create their own courses. Best wishes. Paul

If we would like the JFF courses to resume, I think you will have to start up your courses again, Coach!

Before Paul does that he should find out exactly

...how and where continuation education occurs.

If we think on JFF courses as being run from 2006...now 7 years on, what can we say about 'quality playing results'? ...and reasons for same?

Could it be that there is...
          - tremendous levels of attrition?

          - no continuing education i.e. after graduation from these courses the graduates learn nothing further...that is sum total of 'coaching knowledge'?

          - slow progression on replacing of untrained coaches?

Why is it our local players and teams have not shown markedly improved skills and performances? ...and that right across all levels and also across the entire island?

Why are our local national teams...scratch that we have no local national teams, we have squads 'forming di fool'...so poor?
