Despite the difficulties of assembling <SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 700; COLOR: black! important; BORDER-BOTTOM: black 1px solid; FONT-FAMILY: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; POSITION: relative; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent">a </SPAN><SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 700; COLOR: black! important; BORDER-BOTTOM: black 1px solid; FONT-FAMILY: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; POSITION: relative; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent">team</SPAN>, Jamaica's national football coach Carl Brown has managed to call a 22-man squad for a training camp in preparation for a friendly against Canada on September 4.

Goalkeeper and captain <SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400; COLOR: black! important; BORDER-BOTTOM: black 1px solid; FONT-FAMILY: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; POSITION: relative; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent">Donovan</SPAN> Ricketts is in while Richard McCallum has been earmarked as his understudy for the trip.

Leading up to the friendly, Brown, who has taken up duties as interim head coach had indicated that there was trouble getting the squad together.

Ricketts wasn't expected to play because of a match he had on the Saturday before the game.

Defender Claude Davis is ruled out because of injury while Tyrone Marshall has just returned from injury and his club has asked for him to be rested.

Similar requests have come in from Jermaine Hue's club in Sweden, while Luton Shelton picked up a mid-week <SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400; COLOR: black! important; FONT-FAMILY: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; POSITION: relative">injury</SPAN>.

    Balanced squad

The training squad is still a balanced one, with Teafore Bennett, Ricardo Fuller, Damion Stewart, Shavar Thomas, who has finally been recalled, Shane Crawford, Jermaine Johnson, Omar Daley, and Khari Stephenson adding to the international flavour that Ricketts brings.

Desmond Breakenridge, Shawn Sawyers, Demar Phillips, veteran striker Kevin Lamey, Lovel Palmer, Jermaine Taylor, Jason Morrison, Xavean <A class=kLink oncontextmenu="return false;" id=KonaLink3 &#111;nmouseover=adlinkMouseOver(event,this,3); style="POSITION: relative; TEXT-DECORATION: underline! important" &#111;nclick=adlinkMo
