The Mexican FA (FMF) has fired coach Manuel Vucetich and named Miguel Herrera as the coach for at least Mexico's two playoff matches against New Zealand. The decision to change coaches again was made at an emergency meeting of the 18 member clubs of Liga MX, the big-time national league.
Herrera, currently the coach at the Mexico City-based Club America, is the fourth Mexican national team coach in six weeks. He was loaned by his club to the national side. Club America leads Liga MX by six points.
