Technical Director of Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz Rene Simoes was fired this morning.

He was dismissed following Jamaica’s 2-0 defeat to Honduras in a crucial Group ‘B’ CONCACAF Semi-Round Qualifying Series.

Simoes was reportedly fired around 1a.m. this morning in his hotel room in San Pedro Sula, by the President of The Jamaica Football Federation, Captain Horace Burrell.

The president of the Jamaica Football Federation, JFF, Captain Horace Burrell says a replacement will be announced in a week.

There are also reports that the other members of the coaching staff have been fired.

Following last night’s defeat, the Reggae Boys remain on one point after three games.

Simoes returned to Jamaica on January 5 for his second stint as technical director.

It was Burrell who first brought the Brazilian to Jamaica when the Reggae Boys began their Road to France campaign.
