  • Youth Soccer vs Youth Football

I have a friend whose son is playing football. It cost him 200 dollars for registration, and 400 hundred dollars for uniforms and plus he said ther are other costs.

Youth soccer in my areas is 85-100 dollars for recreational soccer(most of the clubs are recreational) and uniform is is between 0-50 dollars. For the academy program which is all certified coaches is 250 dollars.

I spoke with my club and asked if a parent can't come up with the money and want their kids to play, how they go about it. They said they have a scholarship, Parents can work at tournaments or make part payment as long as they approve.

Now people saying how soccer is middle class sport, and they don't have time while football takes a lot more time for practice. I know it is similar for baseball. Not sure about the b-ball but tennis is also a lot more expensive.
    • Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Life is for living and I won't spend my life feeling cheated and downtrodden.

You are comparing an AMERICAN sport to a FOREIGN one???
Soccer (the REAL football) is NOT a middle class sport, BUT that's where the US authorities focus their resources because it's a better immediate ROI for them.
The NFL, NBA & MLB, and the national associations had to change that approach for the LONG TERM growth & appeal of their respective sport & league.

    1. Why is it necessary for an inner city kid to venture into suburbia to get QUALITY coaching???
    2. Are you satisfied with the level of investment in the inner city???
    3. Why did Klinsman call for more attention to the inner city, where the more "athletic talent" is???

    * If the US ever misses a WC, the inner city would get flooded with support.
