    Published: Sunday | September 15, 2013 0 Comments

Portmore United have announced the appointment of Kenneth Leonard Dyer as their technical director, with immediate effect.

Dyer, 49, was born in London, England, and played youth football for Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspurs and Charlton Athletic. He played professionally in Cyprus for Ethnikos Achna and Nea Salamis Famagusta.

The new man also played senior football for Maidstone United, Chatham Town, Dover Athletic Dagenham & Redbridge in the United Kingdom.

The experienced Dyer represented Montserrat at the international level between 2006 and 2010 in World Cup Qualifiers and Caribbean Cup Championships.

His coaching career started with English non-league club Haringey Borough between 2004 and 2005 and served as national coach for Montserrat between 2008 and 2012.

Dyer's mother, Doreen Ricketts was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and his father, William Dyer was born in Montserrat. He has two children and resides in Clarendon.

"I'm profoundly gratified by the confidence demonstrated by the directors of Portmore United in appointing me to this very important position," Dyer said.

"I am aware of the tremendous history and reputation of the club and am motivated to add value to an already rich tradition. The knowledge garnered as a professional player and coach will be shared with all in the organisation and I am hopeful that my work will have a positive impact on the players, staff and management of the club," Dyer added
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.
