  • Andy Williams suffers broken leg

At least that's what it looks like:

To add injury to insult, RSL forward Andy Williams suffered what is thought to have been a broken leg in the second half.

"It's preliminary until they get the X-rays but they think it's a lower leg, they think it's broken," said RSL coach John Ellinger.

The injury came in the 76th minute. Chivas USA midfielder Sacha Kljestan slid hard at Williams to make a play but his challenge was ill-placed and Williams' left leg caught the brunt of the blow. Kljestan was given a yellow card on the play.

"There's a disciplinary committee and they look at things but it's just one of those things you don't expect to see," said Ellinger. "Sacha's not a malicious kind of guy. It was just a poor decision and we made plenty of our own poor decisions in the first half."

Wish him a speedy recovery! Only a yellow?

      Good news for Andy.

      It's a sprain, not a break.

Sometimes it is better if it were a break. Sprains tend to ba a constant bother over time. Wish him luck anyhow.

          What a stupid argument!

(Relax! Just kidding. Remember your "blessing in disguise" argument?)

Heh, heh, heh (how can I forget).
Seriously though, I had a sprain that I got in primary school and it bothered me all through high school. For that reason, I could not play football to the extent that I could be a torment to Munro. Just imagine, Tilla and Sweetie Smith up front with Boyus Downswell on the wing coming at you. . .

On a more serious note, based on my experience, I was of the opinion that a sprain never completely heals. I also know that some folks usually have pain on parts which are broken too. Who knows which is right?

I understand the strain vs broken argument.

The "Tilla and Sweetie" one though - that'll take a while for me to even imagine!
