There is serious drama here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by sport.es via Caught Offside that Arsenal are about to seal a deal for Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain.
The forward has been looking for as move away from the Spanish giants after it was made clear that not only is he second choice to Karim Benzema but another forward will also be joining the club in the summer pushing the Argentine even further down the pecking order.
Arsenal have been heavily linked to Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic this summer in a £25 million move and now it seems that they are close to completing a deal for Higuain that will cost them around £18.6 million plus a hefty wage packet for the 25-year-old.
Higuain has also been linked to not only North London rivals Tottenham but also Chelsea yet with Jose Mourinho set to take over at the helm of the Blues this summer that move has been dead in the water for some time leaving the path clear for Arsene Wenger to pounce for the forward as the summer draws closer.
