Arsenal to play friendly in Vietnam
VietNamNet Bridge – The famous English Premier League football club, Arsenal F.C, will visit Vietnam this July to play a friendly and participate in some activities as part of its Asia summer tour.
The team, led by head coach Arsene Wenger, will field its key players including Theo Walcott, Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere.
The visit was the result of a contract in Hanoi on May 9 signed between Vietnam’s Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) Group, the Vietnam Export Import Bank (Eximbank) and the club’s representatives.
This will be the first time the Gunners travel to Vietnam despite collaborating with HAGL Football Club to open the HAGL Arsenal JMG football academy in 2007.
Former Manchester United winger David Beckham and the Brazilian Olympic team visited Vietnam in 2003 and 2008 respectively.
