VFL Osnabruck, currently in third place in the German Liga 3, must raise 1.7 million euros to meet the licensing requirements of the German FA (DFB) to remain in 3. Liga next season.
Osnabruck is offering a limited edition of 500 "Lifetime Season Tickets" priced at 3,999 Euros and 1,899 Euros. The deal includes admission to all league matches of the main club, the reserve club, and youth clubs. Also included is the right of first refusal of tickets to friendly matches, and a discount on tickets to DFB Cup matches. The scheme hopes to raise 900,000 euros.
At least one other Liga 3 club must raise money to keep its license. Kickers Offenbach needs 1.3 million euros.
DFB has approved the license for Daniel Gordon's Karlsruhe for Liga 3 or Bundesliga 2.
All clubs in DFB's five divisions must submit their financials for an audit when applying for a license next year. The financials must show a sufficient cash reserve.
