Bayern 4 Barca 0? Anybody else realize it could have been more than 4? Can Barca turn it around? Well if any team can turn around a 4-0 deficit it would be Barca, but this is Bayern. They have 3 players capable of sitting in front of the defence and the team lose nothing going forward.

Dante, I thought Bayern said they would not be signing anymore Brazilian or was it South American players? That play to deflect the ball from Messi's path for a corner was brilliant. Another defender may have scored an own goal or did what Kompany did prior to Demspey's goal, leave it alone.

This 2nd leg should be interesting.

Lazie this Bayern team is a mean machine, very efficient. For all who bang on about posession please note Bayern only had 37% posession and could've scored more!!

I said it here more than once ... possession nuh win football games. What I find scary is that they added another quality player to this team.

Also this rubbish about you have to have a designated playmaker to be successful!! Bayern kicked that notion into touch

Fundamental ball Dunny, according to bayern captain they executed on defense almost perfectly setting up the transition game.

Funny thing is today's game with Dortmund and Madrid both feature a 4-5-1 or as they call it 4-2-3-1 which is what I have been talking about for jamaica for a long time. It is the perfect formation for foiling a possession oriented team, especially if the focus is on defensive execution.

              1) Can you conceed Bayern had a midfield to transition into the attack ?

              2) Is that what Jamaica lacks ?

Fundaments !Our strongest game has always been our defence.

that is what I am telling you guys a long time. Use your strenght, what is effient. Ball possession is good but at the end of the day scoring is more important. Bayern have a good defense, some speed and some technical players.

Dis is a rare exception to di rule, in most instances team designate one. Ah mean good footballing teams nuh kick ah run dung or volley ball teams as mi like fi call dem. Barcelona fi example rule fi years now wid an play makah, which suggest dem importance. Is dat ah kill di game of today, all coach or manager tink seh playmaker nuh important but all di great teams of di past had one, an plus dem teams was way bettah dan teams of di now.

Sass, please do not forget about the 2 fullbacks. Alaba and Lahm overlapping and creating havoc.

Lazie - clearly, goals win games, but the fact of the matter is that the data shows that possession is closely correlated to favorable results. It is however, very important to note that there are ONLY A SMALL NUMBER OF TEAMS that can cede possession to the opponent and win. Jose Mourinho's Inter and this Bayern team are at the top of the heap in that regard (special mention to RDM's Chelsea in last year's semi). At the end of the day, what is important is that a team sticks to its strategy and has the personnel to be able to execute on its strategy...and to accept that sometimes the opponents strategy is better than yours. That's just how it goes sometimes.

You are looking at an exception, not the general rule. The majority of times, greater possession leads to victories.
