Jamaica drop to No 68 in FIFA rankings
      CMC
      Friday, April 20, 2007

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) - Eight-time Caribbean Cup champions Trinidad and Tobago have displaced Jamaica as the No 2 team in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) rankings.
On the back of their two-place rise and Jamaica's seven-place slide in FIFA's April rankings released Wednesday, T&T have become a close second to Cuba in the CFU rankings.

The Cubans dipped six places to No 65 in the world this month and only four places separate the CFU's top three on FIFA's list with T&T just one behind Cuba at 66th, and Jamaica on their heels at 68th on the world list.
New Caribbean Cup champions Haiti, ranked fourth in the CFU, enjoyed another climb up the world list to No 86. They had jumped four places to 88th in March.

The rest of the Top-10 in the CFU is Guyana - 99th in the world - at fifth, followed by St Vincent & the Grenadines (102), Barbados (113), Suriname (115), and Bermuda (123), with Antigua & Barbuda (125) in 10th position.
In the CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) ratings, Mexico remain No 1 at 18th in the world up three places from last month, and the USA are second at 29th.
Costa Rica and Honduras, joint 52nd in the world, share third in CONCACAF, while Panama (56th) are fifth. The Cubans are remain sixth, as they were last month, with T&T seventh and Jamaica eighth.
Italy regained No 1 from Argentina in the FIFA world rankings , with Brazil third and France fourth. Germany are fifth.

CFU Rankings - April 2007 (world ranking in brackets)
      1 Cuba (65)
      2 Trinidad & Tobago (66)
      3 Jamaica (68)
      4 Haiti (86)
      5 Guyana (99)
      6 St Vincent & the Grenadines (102)
      7 Barbados (113)
      8 Suriname (115)
      9 Bermuda (123)
      10 Antigua & Barbuda (125)

      ----------

We have no God-given right to expect to rule the CFU area...but, I am sorry...hard work with our abundant talent pool should have us ruling the roost!

Hey! - It cannot be about merely being top of the CFU, it must be about walking to the TOP OF THE WORLD! Yes Iyah - FORWARD!
