When Argentina played England in the 86 WC, Maradona beat half of Bobby Robson's squad with his left foot ONLY to score the second goal.
Just last season when Chelsea won the Champions' League, Robben who has no end of talent--is so left footed, that when he is forced to the right, his team mates are forced to prepare to defend.
During the Champions league, it was almost comical to see two Chelsea players alowing him the entire right...not allowing him inside. You'all should remember how ineffective Robben was in that game!!
Recall aslo, the most valuable player in the WC in south Africa Diego Forlan. Everyone had problems with the Jabulani ball except (it seems) Forlan. He scored from nearly 30 yards against against Ghana with is right foot. Against holland, he scored from almost the same distance with is left foot.
OJ, Assasin, Marin, TopBrick et. al. ..you are all correct in your opinions on the subject. Footballers have been playing with their stronger foot since someone decided to rolls some soft materials into a ball and kick it around. It's just that players who can comfortably receive the ball on either side has a slight overall advantage. One-footed players tend to help the opposition too much.
Some say this is the best goal ever:
