You beat me to the punch Stoni, Chelsea played for years and won many trophies without a midfield maestro so have Manchester United.

Now answer the second question regarding employing a defensive game plan without effective and experienced counter attacking players.

Can the players effectively and efficiently pass, move with and without the ball and counter attack???

Sure, that is the idea, attacking fullbacks and speed on the break!

Defense first, counter second, on counter even I could even make the pass in the attack, you have more space, more options, attacking side is in disarray trying to regroup, plays to our strengths and limits our weaknesses.

And those skill sets (effective & efficient passing, moving with and without the ball and counter attacking) are not present with the present ReggaeBoyz lineup.

So why employ a game plan that your personnel cannot effectively and effeciently execute???

BUT the 'Boyz are playing with two central midfielders who struggle to pass the ball and seem uncomfortable with the ball at their feet, and you don't have the personnel to effectively and efficently execute the counter attack.

Yes that is where we have to improve, better passers out f defense, better vision out of tht position, develop players to fit that formation, much as how Germany at one time could initiate the attack from the centre half position, that kind of attack initiation is like the upper cut that you just never see, the element of surprise, the kind of talent you need in an attacking mid when the defense is set before him and he has little space to thread the needla as many here like to say, the mere idea of threading a needle in reality is not even something i like to do, we need to get out of the threading the needle business, it has to be simpler than that, it is like Houdini trying to escape the Titanic whilst locked in the ships safe. Requires ridiculous talent that we have not even figured out how to identify, these kids are in jamaica somewhere being ignored because we are looking for the wrong thing. In lieu of getting that doe and developed in next twenty years then we must launch the attack from deeper and on the counter whether from the d mid or the combination with the wing backs who must be covered when in transition which is another discipline ssle we have, wb's moving without the gap being covered.

And do you think that the present ReggaeBoyz starting team (vs Panama & Costa Rica) has the personnel to effectively and efficiently play like this???
