It's better than you think. Certainly better than whatever the third division in England is called.

Daniel played all 90 minutes, and Karlsruhe won 2-1. Karlsruhe is now back in first place in Liga 3 by one point in a five team race.

Karlsruhe 57, Osnabruck 56, Arminia Bielefeld 55, Prussen Munster 53, Heidenheim 52. Arminia Bielefeld and Prussen Munster have played one less game than the others. Karlsruhe leads all four teams on goal difference.

The top two teams are automatically promoted to Bundesliga 2, and the third place team plays the 16th place Bundesliga 2 team in a promotion playoff.

Last year, Karlsruhe was relegated to Liga 3 after losing a promotion playoff to Jahn Regensburg on away-goals rule after the referee bought a dive in the penalty area. Jahn Regensburg is now dead last in Bundesliga 2.

Karlsruhe has been in Bundesliga 2 almost continuously since 1995, spending this season and one other in Liga 3, and two seasons in the big time. Karlsruhe was one of the original 16 teams when the modern Bundesliga was formed in 1963.
