Do not start laying the grounds for running! I am on about investment in our youth (in schools) and why the various sports taught should be given the same attention as each academic subject.

So laying the ground by trying to separate any one subject/discipline or department from the other can only be done if you start apportioning rankings as per English v Mathematics (i.e. subject v subject) v a sport...and then move 'logically' to claims that because there is disparity in attention paid to a discipline or set of disciplines then the others are "not the aims of the schools" and should therefore be given short shrift???

--- Please refocus and remember the original and still only position I have taken is each subject/discipline must be given excellent instructions! ...no "not the aim of the school"...or a relegation to "short shrift" or as we would say in our vernacular, "dun cah" attention=a less than a striving for excellence...and therefore each discipline must be given attention appropriate with/commensurate with that striving for excellent graduates!
