    Mertesacker's pace at this level --- TOP LEVEL...

    is proving a big problem. He loses ball where he has a headstart.

    btw - Once again a match at this high level - highest level but 1 - proves a TEAM cannot afford slow players. All the action occurs at blinding pace.

        43 min game appears to be coming back to the GUNNERS. ...got to be careful another goal is not given up.

        Walcott has to be released with ball by his right (preferably) or his left when he is facing goal.

          45 min...cross from the right by the Germans, Mertesacker too slow to get in a challenge...he remains rooted to where he was...free header for the Germans...misses left as GUNNERS 'keeper dives but is beaten all ends up.

                Half-time... Bayern Munich superior in all departments.
                ...yet it is near to GUNNERS as so far both Ramsey and Arteta had opportunities to release Walcott by sending on those ball to his side to have him 'spring' on the Bayern Munich defense. Instead of releasing Walcott both men spurn the opening...destroy the play and 'spin' backwards.

                It could not be that they do not know Walcott likes service as he runs towards towards goal.

                  So Walcott getting no service? Sagna looking more attacking than any of the forwards or midfield..

                    Is he getting any balls passed to him?

                    ...our biggest liabilities are Arteta and Ramsey inability to release any of our forwards...it appears they have an inability to see the passing lanes (where they should deliver the ball). We need those 'set-ups' on goal. We have not caused the Bayern Munich goalkeeper to work.

                    ..and the slowness of Mertesacker.

                        ...no he was in that first 30 minutes on the shoulders of the central defenders...and there were no balls splitting them say 10 yards out from the German's Penalty-Area to turn the defenders and give Walcott a 5 yard burst and shot. ....and the opportunites were there!

                              The game has come back to us but be careful of the counter...GERMAN TEAMs are usually strong physically....so they will spring with hard running on the counter.
