  • Kansas City to host USMNT World Cup qualifier vs Jamaica

Kansas City will reportedly host USMNT World Cup qualifier vs. Jamaica on October 11

According to a report from Grant Wahl on Monday, Kansas City is quickly becoming U.S. Soccer's "go-to" site for hosting the most important World Cup qualifiers late in the qualifying stage.

Following the city's boisterous and emphatic display during last year's semifinal round of World Cup qualifying, there has been little question whether or not Sporting Kansas City's Sporting Park would another of the United States national team's key games in 2013's final round of World Cup qualifying The question has, instead, been a tussle over which game the U.S. Soccer federation would choose to host in the Heartland.
According to Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl on Monday morning, we may be close to an answer:

I think Tilla paid those people off,the game should be in PA or Jersey!

They did some research to lessen the impact of Jamaicans attending the match. Jersey & PA are too close to the huge population center of NY....
The Mexico home game might be scheduled in Seattle!

"Reportedly host" Tilla. This is forward looking.

The USA Website still TBD on the venues

But irrespective of the venue, I will be there.

I will be in Colarado to see the US v. Costa Rica. Cannot understand why they would use a 18,500 seater stadium for such a match.

The same goes for Sporting KC Stadium. It holds only 18,086. My guess is that since both venues are expandable to 25,000, they will do just that for the Jamaica game. Apart from the (local) support, it's about making money.

The turnout of Jamaicans to support the BoyZ after '98 have been very disappointing! The turn-out for the US v. Jamaica in Ohio was also disappointing. Let's hope that changes!

Trust HL, the USSF site has not officially reported it as yet, but a suh it guh.
They still want to keep it under wraps so not too many of us plan in advance to be here.
