JFF increases Grandstand admission to see Reggae Boyz

    Wednesday, February 13, 2013

PATRONS will be asked to pay between $4,500 and $5,500 for grandstand tickets in their support of the Reggae Boyz when they take on Panama on Friday, March 22 inside the National Stadium, it was revealed in a release from the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).

Previously, the public was asked to pay $5,000 for Grandstand One tickets that has been increased to $5,500, while Grandstand Two tickets went up by a $1,000 from $3,500 to $4,500 on the back of the Reggae Boyz's encouraging 0-0 away draw with Mexico in the Azteca. Jamaica will face Panama in its second World Cup qualifier in the hexagonal round with the match time set for 8:30 pm. There was no change to the charge for the Bleachers, which will remain at $1,500.

Discussions have already begun regarding making the game a total experience for football fans to ensure that the momentum gained from the historic game against Mexico is maintained, the release said.

"The adjustment in the price of the Grandstand tickets is to help position the federation to meet the demands of an increasingly costly campaign. As the federation ensures that the best available team is at the disposal of the coaching staff, costs related to the players' welfare have had to be adjusted," added the release.

"Equally important, the federation also has to continuously ensure that the revenue from home games are sufficient to not only cover expenses of the home game, but the away games from which the JFF earns no revenue."
Immediately following the March 22 game, the squad leaves for Costa Rica for the third qualifier on March 26, where all costs for airfares, accommodation and travel for the team will be the responsibility of the JFF.

The public will be advised shortly of the date tickets will go on sale, as well as plans
regarding the team and all the other attractions for the game.

Yes, but the US minimum wage is $7.25 (going to $9 according to Barack) and the Jamaican minimum wage (based on a 40 hour work week) is $1.80/hour (really $72.00/week). Now, if you work like me, that is more like $0.90 per hour for a Jamaican laborer, but if you work like that lazy brute Jangle, is more like $250/hour; for example, if him get hired to flip 4 burgers an hour, you lucky if you get one slice of breadbetween the round of domino him ago play while him supposed to be working.

Anyway, it seems that on that basis, our lowest price is still higher than Americas.

Those prices for the JFF are a bargain, and people who earn a minimum wage are unlikely to attend a football game in either country.

Absolutely. You don't see the NBA or NFL pricing tickets so that the masses can afford them. That's what live TV is for.

If them can't price it now, a when them a go price it. You have the option of jumping on a police baton or staying home but the JFF have all right.

If they had lost badly to Mexico the other day, they would have to give away some a the tickets them.
