Jamaica U20 lost 2-1 to the USA U20 yesterday in Toluca, Mexico. Toluca is actually 8,750 ft in elevation, a good 1,400 ft higher than Mexico City!
The American scored first and we pull one back through Andre Lewis. The Yanks, I am told by one of the players, went ahead after the coach pulled many of the first team players to look at some other players.
Alvas Powell did not play a he is nursing some thigh injury.
I understand the Jamaicans did very well and outplayed the Americans. (Hey, das what dem tell mi!)
What we must remember is some of these American players have as many as 20 caps playing for the U20 team. That shows you how many friendlies they had coming into this tournament. That many caps is unheard of for any Jamaican youth player.
They play the Americans again tomorrow.
