Joke ting like I said we can put 3 past anyone and 3 can be put past us , tactically naive.Dont blame the midfield or defence , blame the coach he hasnt a clue.
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

Your opponents played well! It has been a revelation to see the quality of play of some of the teams from the lower leagues. Quite impressive were some of these TEAMs!

X, explain why this loss is down to BR being tactically naive when two of the three goals came from player errors and Borini, Robinson (worst player of the day) and Sterling all missed gilt-edged chances.

didn't see it but as some stage you have to put the youngsters in and give them some blood. Sorry Pool lost but same thing happen to Manu last year too.
Spurs use mostly them first team and lost.

Peter, here's my honest assessment. X is right about tactics in the sense that he played a modified 4-3-3 with the following players:

              ------------------------Jones
              Wisdom----------Skrtel------Coates-------Robinson
              ------------Henderson---------------Allen
              -----------------------Suarez
              --Sterling--------------Sturridge----------Borini

You can immediately see a problem with the midfield. Suarez and the wingers (Borini and Sterling) should NEVER have been expected to come back deep enough so eseentially, we ended up playing a 4-2-4 when defending; as you know, that formation went out with the dashiki (although I am sure Karl still wears one ) This line up was intended to go out there and get a quick goal. It back fired because Oldham, to their credit came out on the front foot...they did not give us anytime to get settled. However, that was the first goal. The second and third goals came from defensive errors. The first being Jones spilling the ball on what should have been a routine save and these third goal from Wisdom failing to contain the Oldham left winger giving him far too easy a cross but worse, Robinson didn't even leave the ground to try to contest the header that give them the third.

My honest take - the formation didn't suit the player selections but we had ample chances to score and didn't*. Credit to Oldham for not lying down, but the Liverpool players that missed the target and those with the defensive errors, have to take most of the blame I think.

*not to mention they incorrectly called offside on a perfectly ligitimate goal by Suarez off a set play.

Olivier Giroud was Arsenal’s FA Cup hero on Saturday but their victory was marred by ugly clashes between their own supporters.
The Frenchman scored twice before substitute Theo Walcott hit a late winner for Arsene Wenger’s side against resilient Brighton.
But the win was overshadowed by a fight among Arsenal supporters after a fan unfurled a banner calling for Wenger to leave the club.

Time to go: Arsenal fans came to blows after this banner was unfurled during their win over Brighton

It read: ‘Arsene, thanks for the memories but it’s time to say goodbye.’
The banner sparked fury among Wenger supporters who ordered the supporter to put it away.
The brawl, which occurred around the 80-minute mark, saw a number of punches thrown.
One supporter, understood to be the man who unravelled the banner, was ejected from the stadium.
Frustrations among supporters were growing after Brighton twice pegged Arsenal back after Giroud put them ahead on two separate occasions.
The France striker has now scored 13 goals in an increasingly productive first season in English football.

Hard to handle: Olivier Giroud (right) scored two in the win against Brighton, taking his tally for the season to 13
‘When he gets in the fighting mode, he [Giroud] is difficult to handle,’ said Wenger.
‘He could have played 20 years ago in England, 10 years ago and today because he has everything you need to play centre forward.
‘Usually we go more for mobile players, but he gives us something different, and I believe with him and Theo we have a good partnership.’
Meanwhile, Thomas Vermaelen will return to the Arsenal starting line-up for Wednesday’s clash against Liverpool after missing the clash against Gus Poyet’s side with an ankle injury.
Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Bacary Sagna Santi Cazorla and Walcott are all likely to return to the starting XI for the match against Brendan Rodgers’ side after being rested on Saturday.
Arsenal declined to comment on the fans’ incident.

You start to blame the manager when his system fails to consistently produce chances (in the league), his budget is poorly spent and results are not generally in line with squad expectations. You don't evaluate the manager on his early round cup form as they are rarely putting out their best team. Anyway, it took me 6 years to get there with Rafa, 4 months with Hodges and one 10 months with Dalglish (the final straw was him putting Spearing in the starting line up in the FA Cup final, a decision I lamented at the start of the game and punctuated when Spearing turned over the ball to give Chelsea their first goal and don't even start me on the £80m he wasted on players).

Rodgers problem - and this is something he has to fix - is that he believes too much that possession is the solution to all ills ignoring defensive shape. He needs a defensive strategy to go with his offensive game plan. However, he deserves more time because his squad is FAR younger than anything any Liverpool manager has had to contend with in the last 100 years and he is trying to introduce a new system from the academy on up. Still, he has to buy some experience in summer.

X's problem is that he can't get over Liverpool and Rafa parting ways. It come een like him have a new girl but still vex that he broke up with an old girl friend; no healthy relationship is possible under those conditions. Nothing the new girl does will ever make him happy.
