  • Daniel Gordon's Coach Tears Achilles Tendon

Karlsruhe SC's coach Marcus Kauczynski tore his Achilles tendon yesterday in a traditional staff vs. fans match during training camp in Turkey. He flew back to Germany for surgery.

The team has two more friendly matches scheduled before resuming league play January 26.

    Hey Bruce.

I won $32.00 in dog racing in Orlando Fl last week end.

I know nothing about the sport. It was purely luck.

Last year i went to the same track and liked a dog (outfitted in Green and white stripes). I was late in getting my bet in--and that dog won!!

So this year I decided to bet on any dog wearing the same colors in the fifth race. You know the rest of the story!!

The dog with the green and white stripes is always the # 7 dog.

If you are feeling very lucky, the # 4 dog always wears a green blanket. The #6 dog always wears a yellow blanket.

So, go for a $2 QUINELA BOX on 4,6,and 7 ($6 bet) If any two of those dogs finish first and second, you win. There are 28 possible combinations in a quinela, and you have three.

Next time you go, check out Sanford-Orlando's restaurant. It is angled so that it appears the dogs are coming out of the starting box straight at you. Very impressive.

If HL bet $2 win/place/show on a longshot, say a dog with 10-1 odds, it could have paid $32 total in all three pools.

Wednesday afternoon, at the same track in Orlando, a dog named JAMAICA JACK (#6 - yellow blanket) in the first race went off at 6-1 odds and finished second behind a 10-1 shot.

JAMAICA JACK paid $35.60 to place, and @$22.40 to show.
