He is very weak technically, so I think that is why he found himself on the bench so quickly. Whereas another player would get the benefit of the doubt after such a strong goal scoring start to the season.

He is still relatively young, so time is on his side.

Lloyd Doyley and Nyron Nosworthy helped Watford to a clean sheet away at Notts Forrest:-

Nottingham Forest 0 Watford 3: Vydra hits two again as free-scoring Hornets go fourth

                    PUBLISHED:17:27, 26 January 2013| UPDATED:18:57, 26 January 2013
Matej Vydra scored a brace for the third successive game as free-scoring Watford took their npower Championship goal haul to 56 in 28 games with a comfortable victory over Nottingham Forest.
With neither Middlesbrough or Crystal Palace in action, the Hornets claimed all three points to move them into fourth place while Forest's play-off aspirations suffered a blow.
Gianfranco Zola's men have scored in every league game since November 6 and it was no surprise that they broke the deadlock when Vydra swept home.
The Italian, who has piqued the interests of some Barclays Premier League clubs with his sparkling form, then turned provider for strike partner Troy Deeney to double the advantage.

Top form: Watford's Matej Vydra was again excellent, scoring twice as Watford ran out 3-0 winners at Nottingham Forest

Tripped: Forest's Simon Cox fouls Watford player Almen Abdi during the Hornets' 3-0 win at the City Ground

                    Match facts

Nottingham Forest: Darlow, Jara Reyes, Ward, Collins, Halford, Gillett (Reid 46), Lansbury, Cohen, Cox (Majewski 61), Blackstock (Henderson 76), Sharp

Substitutes: Evtimov, Harding, Henderson, McGugan, Reid, Greening, Majewski

Watford: Almunia, Doyley, Ekstrand, Nosworthy, Cassetti (Hall 70), Abdi, Battocchio (Hogg 78), Chalobah (Yeates 85), Pudil, Deeney, Vydra

Substitutes: Bond, Eustace, Hall, Yeates, Hogg, Geijo, Forestieri

                    Scorers: Vydra 20, 72, Deeney 34

Referee: Andy Haines (Tyne & Wear)
                    Attendance: 20,732

Latest Championship table, fixtures and results

The hosts may have staged a comeback had Dexter Blackstock not missed the target from point-blank range on the stroke of the interval.
Vydra's confidence was evident again as he put the icing on the cake with a smart lob for the Hornets' third goal in the second period.
Alex McLeish's hosts were given an early warning of what was to come when Deeney turned his man, drove into the box and fired narrowly wide.
Watford did not have to wait long for the opening goal, however, as Vydra grabbed his 17th of the season after 20 minutes.
An incisive pass through by Nathaniel Chalobah was picked up by Deeney and he steered it across the face of goal for Vydra to apply the finish.
Karl Darlow, promoted to number one under McLeish, was hapless for Vydra's strike but he made a fine stop from Almen Abdi at a corner before Joel Ekstrand's effort was hacked off the line.

Heavy pressure: Simon Cox finds himself surrounded by Watford players, including Marco Cassetti

Hanging on: Dexter Blackstock (right) gets hold of Watford's Lloyd Doyley

The hosts were offering little attacking threat and when they did push forward the Hornets punished them with a blistering counter-attack which led to the second goal 11 minutes before the break.
Manuel Almunia punched out a set-piece and Cristian Battocchio and Chalobah brought the ball out before Deeney released Vydra. The Czech striker neglected to shoot himself, instead feeding Deeney to rifle in a second.
Forest finally came to life and Simon Cox skewed his chance just wide before Blackstock, who signed a new contract at the City Ground on Thursday night, somehow fluffed his lines just before the break.

No hands: Dexter Blackstock and Lloyd Doyley go for the ball

Watford nearly had a fortunate third as Battocchio's cross soared over Darlow and smacked against the crossbar.
Yet there was nothing lucky about Vydra's second as he made it 10 goals in his last five Championship starts 18 minutes from time.
Abdi picked out the forward with a through ball and Vydra kept his composure with Darlow coming out to meet him, lifting the ball over the stopper's head and into the net.
The hosts then introduced new signing Darius Henderson but he could not galvanise his team.

The impressive Gareth McCleary scored in Reading's 4-0 win:-

Reading 4 Sheffield United 0: Hunt at the double as Royals cruise into fifth round

                      By Paul Hirst, Press Association
                      PUBLISHED:16:52, 26 January 2013| UPDATED:19:21, 26 January 2013
Mikele Leigertwood scored a thundering long-range drive against his old club as Reading strolled into the last 16 of the FA Cup with a very comfortable win over Sheffield United.

With Reading currently sitting in the Barclays Premier League relegation zone, many people had this down as a potential upset, but League One United were completely outclassed at the Madejski Stadium.

Reading boss Brian McDermott made six changes to his side, resting the likes of Pavel Pogrebnyak and Danny Guthrie, but the decision did not backfire as the Royals continued to show the confidence they have gained after a winning run that now stretches to four games.

Man of the hour: Noel Hunt netted after just six minutes to give Reading the lead

                      Match facts

Reading: Federici, Kelly, Mariappa, Morrison, Shorey, McCleary, Leigertwood (Guthrie 84), Karacan, Robson-Kanu, Hunt, Le Fondre.

Subs not used: Taylor, Pearce, McAnuff, Kebe, Church, Cummings.
                      Goals: Hunt 6, 50, Leigertwood 40, McCleary 54.

Sheff Utd: Long, Westlake (Collins 76), Higginbotham, Maguire, McMahon, Blackman, McDonald (Whitehouse 69), Doyle, Murphy, Porter (Flynn 60), Kitson.

Subs not used: Coyne, Cresswell, Ironside, De Girolamo.

                      Referee: Chris Foy (Merseyside)

Noel Hunt, making a rare start, took just five minutes to open the scoring with a neat header and he also beat United goalkeeper George Long in the second half to register his sixth of the season.

Garath McCleary, who gave the away defence a torrid time all afternoon, also found the net following a mazy run into the box, but the best strike of the day came from ex-Blades midfielder Leigertwood.

The 30-year-old had spoken of his enjoyable year with United in the Barclays Premier League in 2006, but he showed little mercy against his former employers today, firing a powerful drive past Long in the dying minutes of the first half.

McDermott had described United as a 'giant' on Thursday after recalling the exploits of such Blades heroes as Tony Currie.

There were no signs that any of the current crop of the Blades players were capable of playing at such a level early on, however, as the visitors went behind after just five minutes.

High flyer: Hunt celebrates his first goal with a somersault

Hal Robson-Kanu found space on the left flank and whipped in a curling cross which Hunt headed in from eight yards before he embarked upon a celebratory backflip.

Adam Le Fondre, rewarded with a start following his match-winning brace at Newcastle last weekend, burst past three players but Long came to gather before Hunt could add a second.

United started to briefly come back into the match. The impressive Nick Blackman skipped past his marker and fired a low ball across a packed penalty box, but Adrian Mariappa turned the ball behind.
Captain marvel: Leigertwood doubled Reading's lead

McDermott remained on the edge of his technical area, clearly worried his team had lost the initiative.

United's Chris Porter flicked a header just wide of Adam Federici's goal just after the half hour and the Australian did well to save Jamie Murphy's low drive moments later.

Any hopes United had of levelling before the break were dashed in the 40th minute when McCleary found Leigertwood lurking 25 yards out and he unleashed a powerful drive which Long had no chance of stopping.
High hopes: Tony McMahon curls in a free-kick for Sheffield United

Reading continued to dominate after the break. Nicky Shorey split the Blades defence with a well-weighted pass, but Long came out to smother before Hunt could shoot.

The seemingly inevitable third goal for the home side came moments later when McCleary cut in from the right and squared to Hunt, whose scuffed shot dribbled past the wrong-footed Long.

Reading's fans started chanting 'Que sera', clearly convinced the game was over.

Unhappy return: United's Dave Kitson was facing his former club

And the final nail in the visitors' coffin came after 54 minutes thanks to a great bit of skill from McCleary. The former Nottingham Forest man picked up Le Fondre's pass, and embarrassed his marker with a slalom run into the box before beating Long at his far post.

United almost pulled back a consolation goal on the hour through McDonald, who saw his drilled shot tipped wide by Federici.

East street: McCleary's strike put the result beyond doubt

The Australian was beaten moments later but, luckily for the Royals, Stephen Kelly was on hand to clear Blackman's shot off the line.

A section of the away support starting making their way to the exits. Had they stayed they would have seen Ryan Flynn miss a glorious chance to pull one back, the substitute somehow putting a free header wide from eight yards following a pinpoint cross from Blackman.
Two good: The Blades couldn't cope with Hunt

Most Forumites may be too young to remember the glory days of Nottingham Forrest. They ruled England in the late 70s for a short period. Indeed, they ruled Europe, repeating as European champions in 79 and 80.

Nottingham Forest also gave England its first black international in Vivian Anderson. Other familiar names such as Marlon King, Stern John and one David Johnson also passed through that club. (Are we allowed to say DJ's name on the forum now? It was officially banned some years ago. )

Where are they now? Midtable in the Championship.

                          Sigh

I went to Ashton Gate tonight to watch Bristol City v Watford. Nosworthy played the full game, however Lloyd Doyley wasn't in the Watford squad, not sure if he is injured. Marvin Elliott has been struggling with a groin injury but came on in the 27th minute and had an excellent game. Final score
                            Bristol City 2-0 Watford.
