In football, it has to be the degree of cheating. Anyone who has played the game knows that he never called his own handball when it happened. It has to be abt degree!

That's the easy way out. There is no personal responsibility on the part of the player. The rule, your rule is - be as dishonest, as obnoxious, as unruly and as racist as you wanna be. It is for the authorities to put, or try to put, a stop to it.

Actually - these are two separate arguments. The handball offense was missed by the officials and Suarez's body language showed that he expected it to be called back. He did not run and jump up and down and celebrate like Henry did after that tief gypped Ireland out of the World Cup but he still handled the ball and the goal should not have counted. The fact that it did was the officials fault, not Suarez's and were it Thierry Henry scoring like that against Liverpool, it would be the administrators' fault for not properly equipping officials, just like it was in the France game in the WC qualifications. That's the point of this thread. Suarez, Henry etc. is a sideshow to the real issue.
