Players who have left the club will also be in contention.

In a season of such poor performances, it means Nathan Doyle, Jermaine Johnson, Lee Holmes and even Dean Windass could win.

But many fans have already voiced anger that the club are even having an award.

One supporter told the Telegraph &amp; Argus: 'They should cancel it this year and not insult the fans' intelligence!'

Another added: 'You've got to be kidding they're even thinking of giving awards out to this bunch.'

Anf another said: 'This really is rubbing the salt into the wounds.'

Caretaker boss David Wetherall, captain Mark Bower and goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts are among those still in the team who could be in the reckoning.

The winner will be announced at the awards night on Wednesday, April 25.

To vote, you need to use a coupon in the T&amp;A or text 88442 with the word 'bradc' followed by a space and then the player's squad number only eg 'BRADC 8'. Text entries cost 50p.

Voting ends on Friday, April 20 at midday.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR>
