  • I Proudly Present...

http://www.vtv4u.eu/sports-121217025...-Freiburg.html TUESDAY, 1 pm US Central Time, 1800 GMT

Daniel Gordon and Karlsruhe take on big-time club Freiburg in a round-of-16 German FA Cup (DFB Pokal) match.

Freiburg is fifth in the Bundesliga and would qualify for the Europa League, and won a big match Saturday at seventh-place Schalke 3-1

Karlsruhe is second in Liga 3 and has won eight consecutive league matches, the latest a 3-1 win over their bitter rival VFB Stuttgart.

Adding to the fun, the match is also a local derby for the German province of Baden. Freiburg and Karlsruhe are only 75 miles apart. Karlsruhe's 30,000- seat stadium has been sold out for two weeks.

I have no life, therefore I do not qualify for cable or sattelite TV. One of the SKY channels will be showing the game.

Daniel Gordon wears jersey number 3. Look for him to be in the offensive mix when Karlsruhe has a corner kick or free kick served into the box. He usually works the far post. When Karlruhe has a direct free kick, Daniel goes into the wall among the other team's defenders to
unsight the goalie. Sometimes, Daniel will duck just before the kick,
and Karlsruhe's kicker will shoot the ball through the gap.

Freiburg, Karlsruhe's opponent, is in fifth place in the Bundesliga behind leaders Bayern Munich.

SKY will show the "Konferenz" simulcast, switching among the four matches, and going immediately to wherever a goal is scored.

Looks like Gordon got a knock in the thigh after colliding with his goalkeeper. He is back in the game. The goal rolled right through the old five hold of the usually reliable Dirk Orlishausen.

Aside from the goal, Karlsruhe has hung tough so far. 0-1 23 minute

Karlsruhe had their chances, but could not score the tying goal, losing 1-0.
At least they played better against Freiburg, only four places behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga standings, than Reading did against Arsenal.

I think KSC had the better chances in the second half... couple of poor finishes but they certainly did not look out of their league...
