Ah suh it bruk dung:
1. Gathering pro ballers (whether originally JA raised or the hard running but mediocre English types) into 1-2 week camps to prepare for serious competition will NEVER work to create a cohesive team.... the players are not good enuff and our ball philosophy is unformed. If we had Brazil/Spain type talent...fine dat werk but we don't...yet. Dat talent level has to be developed systematically from early
A team needs time to cook...especially when players/coaches/facilities are ordinary or worse. We now have better players than in 1998....but a much lesser team...and it's NOT merely about coaching
2. The 1998 WCQ showed JA the way....and we promptly lost it. For 2018 it's time to go back to basics
The way: For WCQ build the team FROM EARLY around a local core...give them MASSIVE EXPOSURE PLAYING TOGETHER in all conditions....as Simoes did 1994-97. Including extended Brazil camps...that can be arranged thru Govt to Govt agreement to reduce cost...we can trade track expertise for football smarts
Identify the inevitable performance gaps local players cannot fill... then slot in yard ballas on foreign contract who know the system and if necessary recruit motivated, committed Englishmen FROM EARLY...at least 6 months or so BEFORE qualifiers start...lock the shop afta dat.
Result: Not necessarily the "best" players representing....but a cohesive, competitive team like 1998 or better
3. Invest in yute development... Get ISSA & schools involved in partnering with a JFF academy system...and put Bertis in charge
The knee jerk, slap dash, stop gap, short term, myopic fooliniss dat ah gwaan now gots to go... it favor one Keystone Cops flim show
