The question I asked before in my original post is a better question to ask...how has the country benefitted from the foreign coaches? Has the standard of football improved in Jamaica at the national team level since Rene Simoes and company 1998? With all the money spent...with all the different coaches...what has changed?? SO...knowing this...why not use consultants...and actually develop Jamaican coaches who know the culture, know the players etc etc. of Jamaica. This is what will.. in the long term...benefit Jamaican football and the country

The players are awful...what good is it going to do spending money on coaches? Why not spend the money on developing kids in academies and those who know how to develop youngsters? Why are we trying to reinvent the wheel?

I agree....I said that the money could/should have been used for the Infrastructure (ie. academy, etc etc.) in the first paragraph of my original post.

I've seen Kiribati play better football than Jamaica. Its scary how awful we look as a football team.

Where will the money come from to develop? Who is going to sponsor development? Do we have a product to sell to corporate Jamaica for them to put money in development? Who is gonna develop the players? Tappa is still learning and I'm pretty sure he is not at that level. Be realistic people. We need a viable senior team that can attract corporate sponsorship...that will qualify for the World Cup so those benefits can flow into development. In case you didn't remember, Jamaica as a country and JFF is broke. It's easy for burrell to sell bringing in a qualified coach and get sponsorship than to get sponsorship for youth development

According to posters here he was hired without having one.

And if he doesn't have his badges then it is up to the JFF to support him in receiving these. He won't have a problem getting in to take high level licenses being the manager of a top 50 national team.
That's all well and good for an assistant coach who can do his learning on the job. But for the head coach? That's putting the cart before the horse.

In fact, setting out to qualify for the World Cup and entrusting the job to someone without top-level credentials is sheer lunacy.

We need to forget about being competitive for at least 10 years...stop wasting money flying in players from all over the damned place...focus on youth development...build some academies with the friggin money we were given to do the same from FIFA...build a foundation...why is that so difficult for people to comprehend...

youth development along with infrastructure is the way to go. Our 6 year old's should be playing on world class surfaces if they are not I promise you we won't be going anywhere.

Putting the cart before the horse is continually hiring and firing foreign coaches for an astronomical amount of money, and not building an infrastructure to develop the youth and coaches THEN expect to qualify for a world cup. These foreign coaches with all the 'Credentials' have done very little for Jamaica....

When was the last time a Jamaican was entrusted with the program from beginning to end of the world cup qualification process? And then you have foreign coaches coming in who have been given the opportunity to follow through...something is wrong with this. I don't profess to have all the answers...and understand the frustration...but what is the point of bringing in a Jamaican coach and if they lose a few games, run off to get a foreign coach for 100 times the money...who...fail?? It is simple logic...I cannot recall a Jamaican coach who has been paid the same amount of money, had the same support, been given a true chance for the entire process...now is the time. The reality is, is that he has gotten some good results in his tenure...he has some longevity now...he has gotten the team to the hex...so let him see it through. It is to the benefit of Jamaican football and the country.
Too complicated ...easier just to bring in one foreigner

It can't be that expensive to get coaches trained and qualified to teach the youths. Especially if Craig Butler has been able to place his youths into Europe directly from Jamaica and was able to get sponsorship.
