There is always those exception to the rules,if we look for "those indicators" Tappa would've rubbed the pine for the national team as he did on the U19 side;I remember him playing starting in only one game and was fortunate to have done so.There wasn't "those credentials" propping him up but in hindsight we know none was needed.
It is all about consistency resulting from being mentally assured,we can't deny in a few of those away games to the US,the battle was lost mentally. How do we stop that?
The argument is if your are accustomed to day in day out battle against calculated opponents you will be less likely to falter mentally.
We all have our disappointments with the progress of the programme, but thankfully through it all, local players continue to get foreign contracts.Looking at the dynamics of the squad it seems we will not have the Bibi effect this time around, who ago get buss?

The mental part of our game depends on a complex range of circumstance...e.g. self-worth=part it plays in self-belief; level of technical competence; depth of understanding of the game=level of tactical ; knowledge; powers of observation; etc., etc....plus teaching by national team coach.

E.g. You are not going to have us playing a "passing and moving, moving and passing game"="possession game" if the coaching staff is not emphasizing same. ...bottomline you are not going to get us playing top level football unless the coaching staff cements in the psyche of our players/the TEAM what it takes --- make such playing 'reflex' series of actions.

Additionally the ability to acquire information via listening, self study, watching, taking instruction, application to own game, execution of instruction, ability to continue improving, these are not easy things to figure out in one or two practice games, but simple to see over a season worth of ball in whatever league they play in. Your everyday work habits tell me exactly what you are about whether in football or board room.
