Robert Di Matteo has been fired as manager by defending European Champions Chelsea FC following a run of poor results which has seen them with two wins from the last 8 games.
The London club are in danger of not advancing to the next round of the Champions League after their latest 3-0 defeat to Juventus which saw them on the brink of elimination. According to Skysports, former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola and ex-Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez are some of the names now emerging to take over the reigns of Chelsea. In a statement Chelsea stated that they had to take the decision as it comes up on the most crucial period of the English Premiership and thanked Di Matteo for guiding the club to its first Champions League trophy. The Club added that an announcement will be made regarding Di Matteo's replacement.
