Anyway, I see you still missing my point. With some teams and some coaches, Austin and Gardner would get rejected. One will have more success when they find the opportunity which is a fit in most cases and where the coach likes the player.

Another example is Chelsea's Oriol Romeu, the Spanish midfielder and player on the Spain national Under-23 side and former Barcelona player. He was a favorite of Villas Boas and was getting a lot of game and really looking the part for a young midfielder. Villas Boas got fired and Di Matteo was installed as manager. Romeu became almost non existent under Di Matteo, just because he did not see him as fitting into his plans and how he Di Matteo wanted the team to play.
