I agree that the PLCA is short on imaginative leaders. But they may be forced to incorporate new ideas, not reinvent the wheel, for the sake of football in Jamaica

Not sure about what? I am 100% sure that the TV ratings for MLS in the US are atrocious...why are they not atrocious in the US for EPL? Cause MLS is gyaaabage...simple

Currently Mls is number 8 in attendance averages and on the second point they are probably way down the line but within the top 20. By my estimates Mls is pulling in about $300m, based on average revenue stats across teams but compared to the top league Epl they are pulling in greater than $2.5b so close to ten times more.

Ive always thought that about the potential of the MLS.
It can only get stronger as a league when considering the younger generation who havent been brainwashed into American football/ baseball come on stream will prefer to go to soccer matches than the traditional american sports mentioned.

Problem is, if the MLS continues to grow, then guess where the top football talent will prefer to go. Premiership and la liga betta watch out.

Only two things count from my standpoint, live attendance and revenue, revenue is the real bottom line as that covers tv, marketing, gate, everything and is a true determinant of real success, of course profits must be in there as a part of revenue as some leagues are making big money but owe more than they make, oh yea like the V league, sorry had to throw that in.

Winning WC is a whole other matter, won't happen for a while, but once mls gets to point of threatening nfl who knows what can happen. My bet would be an African team may get there first, but that is a tough one but a really good aggregation could catch fire and win with the kind of quality players we see coming out of Africa like red ants on the rampage.

So, you can play poor football but have good "attendance and revenue" and that makes the MLS a "world league"?

Ok, it is your right so to do!

If tiefing Suarez never tief di match, Ghana could have won the 2010 WC!

Absolutely, revenue means everything, that means sey everything done, cook, curry and nyam! revenue = success. Revenue pay for top ballas, revenue mean you can do what you want to do when you want to do it. Revenue means not only can players get top salary they can also get another salary on the marketing side as a top player, can you imagine a strong revenue producing mls tied to Hollywood, that means sey all top Ballard would want to come to mls first and foremost.

Everything is relative. There is revenue and there is REVENUE!

The MLS makes money now (revenue), but the football is still ordinary.

I disagree football is actually getting very good, I watched a few of the playoff games and actually more than held my interest, I don't think I have watched one half of Epl ball this season as yet, as every game I have watched has been choppy and uneven. I saw Arsenal play a game and I thought the team looked pretty good.

They still are struggling revenue wise, but at least they are getting to break even now or better, they are close to the tipping point, a few more years.
