How many players based in Jamaica is on the squad??

I can remember when we outplayed Colombia in Gold Cup a few years ago, it was our two Premeirship players who cost us the game. Frank Sinclair walked the Colombian in the goal and Marcus Gayle missing the easiest header I have ever seen so don't talk like anything is gurantee with EPL or Championship players.
What is the success rate of the squads made up of mostly homegrown players going back to Simoes?. I haven't forgotten the days when we would play a game with teams based on UB 40 this week and win or draw, two weeks later we play a lesser team, without UB 40s and lose. These players have been more positive than negative to us over the years. Lammey was supposed to be the greatest thing since ackee and salt fish. The so called Jamaican football experts kept trying to push him, and push him. When given a chance, the guy was a national embarrassment. There are countless others. This is not a time to try people who we would like to see play, now is the time to select people who can play the game to qualification standard. We all know who those players are.

The rate of the UB40 is no better than the rate for Jamaican born players. Check for yourself. Not much difference.

THe fact is the UB40 have to come in and adjust and be a part of a team to produce, even with his talent.

"Divide and rule will only tear us apart"...Jamaica should field the best possible team in major competitions regardless of where the Jamaicans born..period. A Jamaican born in Jamaica has the same rights to JA citizen ship as one born elsewhere. We need to come together and not fight each other.

Look Sass, we can't go the hex with the current crop and expect to qualify. It's a pipe dream. You know that, I know that, and Simoes knew that when he first came and saw the local talent at that time. Not much has changed. King will play. Like I said Tappa might be inexperienced/incompetent but I don't think he is stupid/suicidal, so basically the whole King debacle is moot. King and Fuller can dismantle most CONCACAF defense and that is a winning combination. Forget about Mattocks and Shelton starting. That's a recipe for dissaster. Maybe off the bench very late but not to take on a fresh, attentive, purposeful defense.

Well part of our problem is we tear down European standard and don't set none for ourselves. I hope you see that when them taking swipe at our local players.

I have no problem with any player, only their behavior and also I may give the coach the benefit of the doubt as they are seeing the players day in/ day out and they know what it takes to build their squads.

I was looking at the teams in the hex in more detail and it dawned on me that we might need all 9 players to get through the hex. This is a very strong hex with no pushovers; unlike in the pass, neither Mexico or the US are sure things to move on. We need to grasp this. If Tappa and company can not or refuse to play the best team then they have to go. Understand I'm a Tappa supporter that believe he is on the verge of being a very good coach, but there is too much at stake.

I suggest looking at each teams players, watch some of their games etc etc and you will get that drift. All nine players can't and won't start, but will probably play a role throughout the campaign.

You are being extremist. We can all sit around a find isolated examples to illustrate our points. That serves no useful purpose. Look at the overall picture. Do you honestly think that we could have made it to France without the UBs. Honestly. Mark you, Jamaica never started playing WC qualifiers in 1994. We have been doing that decades before, and couldn't get past the most mediocre of teams. What you think, we got a lightening bolt that changed our football culture overnight in 1994. No. What changed was the willingness to admit that we have to take advantage of the FIFA citizenship qualification rules. No amount of Allan Cole, Gutto Thompson, Billy Perkins, Miguel Blair, David Bernard, diego Gordon etc etc got us past the very early stages of CONCACAF qualifications. We were not even considered an annoyance to the well placed teams. I have been following this thing long enough, and honest enough to admit it.
