"The problem is we have discarded some of our ballas believing that the digicel team was better than they really are. "

I don't think so Tappa say the indicipline first hand and knew to reach anywhere he had to cut it, and take committed players. Hense even his friends he cut.

A player like King (and others) should have been integrated into the team awhile ago. Any fool could see the weakness in the digicel team and could have predicted that we would have a tough time making it to the hex with that side. If we did not supplement that team with the Watford defensive duo we would be outside looking in right now; as it stands it was another clearly needed discard (Hue) that put us through.

With the job Tappa has done with getting the team to play disciplined and organized the addition of 3 or 4 quality players to the starting mix will greatly strengthen the team and should have us in a position for one of the top 3 spots for Brasil. Tappa still needs to get better at making the correct substitutions and at tactical adjustments during a game; but he is young and will learn.
My problem with the whole King affair is not that King doesn't want to play, it is the way the guy has been treated in the press by the coach, and particularly the assistant coach. To say in public that essentially he doesn't fit in the plan/program is just silly to me. The point is he fits in the plan, if the plan is to get to Rio, and he will play. We all know that, so creating the unnecessary acromony with the guy never made sense to me. Nothing wrong with not selecting him, I have no problem with that, but lambasting the guy in the media, when he has shown dedication to the program over a prolonged period, speaks volumes about the type of coach Tappa is. He may have done irreperable damage to King's relationship to the program. Just what we need in going into battle, right. Once again, King doesn't need Jamaica for dinner money. Jamaica needs King to get to Rio. Plain and simple. He has shown more that enough committment in my view. I think the problem is that Tappa can't coach players who are accomplished players. He needs players who a going to bow down to him, and some players are just not constituted that way. A good coach must be able to tolerate some input and even criticisms from players, especially those who play at a relative high level or bring a certain missing element to a program. Look at players like George Best, Diego Maidona, Paolo Rossi, all of these guys could have been considered disruptive to an extent, but the respective coaches recognized their special value to the programs and worked with them. This overused, and possibly useless term "team-chemistry", is simply a term which even the people who use it everyday probably couldn't give you a succinct meaning of the term. It is simply a catch phrase, or a garbage can excuse for them to hide bahind. The only team chemistry we should be interested in, is the team that gets us to Rio, not the most Kumbaya-team.

Look, you could play with all the discipline in the world you want, you not gonna score goals if you don't have a goal scorer. A quality team, not playing the most disciplined football is always going to beat a team of mediocre talent and skill playing even when they are playing their most disciplined football.

The man is a convicted felon who 'did time'.

First thing is to find out which countries will reject him landing because of this. Then take it from there.

Didn't the great Paolo Rossi do time?. Did the Italians sit around and worry about that. Nobody said he is an angel. He is not applying for a job as warden of a women's hostel. He is applying to play football for heavens sakes. How difficult is it to have those discussions at a ministerial level country to country. All that could have been determined over a year ago. It's all about doing their homework. He has been to Panama, and wasn't denied entry. So there is your answer for one country.

Like I have said before a good manager learns how to motivate different types of players. One of Tappa's issues might be learning how to manage his former team mates whom he has a history of "partying with". When you have an abundance of quality talent knocking down your door to play you can get away with poor management and can get away without anyone challenging stupid rules and poor decisions....but we don't have that luxury so we need our coaches to lean how to effectively manage difficult people.

If Tappa wants a team of only yes-men, he should coach Manning or DCup football, and leave out professional football, because players with experience will give, and should be asked to give input on the game and other off-the-field matters. Silly curfews need to be challenged. Grown men should be able to have girls in their rooms after match, and should express those sentiments to the coach and management. What's wrong with that?. It is a national, professional football outfit, not the darn boys scouts. Even a few drinks, and many drinks if they want, as long as they behave in a menner that is in keeping with the local laws and are not endangering themselves or others.

Reminds me of Carl brown & Lowe fiasco, 1st he lied to the media he called him but lowe hasnt returned his calls, when contacted lowe said no one called him and he would play for his country anytime and place, then the drug issue came up, Carl Browns response : Lowe must sort im self out ? Not that Lowe isnt an assest or cannot contribute to the campaign but the excuse is Lowe himself .

I have a feeling thats where we are going with King ! we need to man manage ballas, like bigger teams do in europe, for club & country , we are rank amatuers ,1st looking at outside perception instead of what one brings to the table and future rewards and 2nd idiots at man management ( we havent a clue) we have no history of it except brute discipline to expunge CC (MO/JFJ criminal advocate/irony), but I will say its a part of football, we have to learn, bring in a psychologist.

King is needed and his value far outweighs whatever consequence is on the scene. That said King should not be our only saviour , just one of ! thats why I hope we get at least 2 bonafide strikers , at least a multifaceted attacking midfielder and another defender.

The worst of us before the best of them , we leave no yaad man behind.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

you forget we try that already? Show me the mexican rag tag team, show me the rag tag US team.

The fact is the Jamaican team needs a high level of discipline to perform. We simply cannot afford or players partying all night and coming to practice and games with hangover. Simply this is no way to reach world cup final.

We want serious players. Only thing we do a berate the players. No doubt King is talented but if he was committed to the game he would be playing with one of the top teams in the EPL like Ashley Young.

Look you all over the map. King ever come play match fi Jamaica drunk?. Anybody mention rag tag team?. In fact the only team in the hex that plays anything close to rag tag football is Jamaica. So drop King and go get Ashley Young. Jamaica stands a better chance of going to Rio without King?. Be realistic Sass. Football is not a popularity or likeability beauty contest. You prefer to see Shelton who can't even dribble past a defender with hands tied behind his back play over King because Shelton goes along to get along?. Forget the damn team-chemistry farce and get on with scoring goals and winning matches. That is the whole idea of showing up.

King and Ashley young was at Watford and was the two top player. Young took his career serious while King was galling and drinking. If he took his career serious he would have been at a second tier club and them possible a bigger club.

King has gotten more than his change, I would rather give Beckford a chance over him anyday because he seems serious about his career. King has been accused in many indicidents while playing for club and country and in case you don't know he served time in one incident.

I rather have a discipline team and I don't think King has the talent we can't refuse. Unlike you I just believe this team needs a litte adjust, not overall and with the wrong people recruited we stand a lesser chance to qualify.

Unnu berate the team even though they won all their home games, even though they had an historic victory against the US and even though they qualified for the second round. Unnu have everything bad to say about them.
I don't believe wholesale UB40 is the answer and I don't believe we have any savior in King. We can take a few good men.

Shelton wouldn't start as a forward on my team with or without King but I give the coach the benefit.

Sass, we can't afford to be complacent. Beating the USA once can't be our ultimate goal, we should be aiming to qualify for the World Cup. You sounding as if you think the current squad who scrape pass Antigua and Guatamala can cut it at the next level.

Sass, we have a whole lot of local players who are serious about their careers, but they just can't play to the required standard for WC qualification. So we should select them on the basis of being serious about their careers. Whether king is serious about his club career or not is not relevant to his national career. As long as the guy shows up and delivers when he wears the black, green , and gold is what should matter most to the JFF. So lets not create another false excuse, as if we don't have enough excuses already.

BTW I keep hearing people pushing Mattocks, Mattocks, Mattocks. Frankly Mattocks couldn't start over King or Fuller on my team. He doesn't have enough skills compared to the later two. So lets get real if we want to go to Rio.

what local players we talking about here????

How many players based in Jamaica is on the squad??

I can remember when we outplayed Colombia in Gold Cup a few years ago, it was our two Premeirship players who cost us the game. Frank Sinclair walked the Colombian in the goal and Marcus Gayle missing the easiest header I have ever seen so don't talk like anything is gurantee with EPL or Championship players.
