I truly believe that we are missing out on more than a few things in the development of our players.
One thing I see when Spain plays that is amazing is the way the guys hold the ball so close and making the most intricate passes in very tight spaces, in what seems to be a simple manner, like as if there brain body reaction is so superior that they are playing at another level as they have been able to create an advantage in the receipt, holding and distribution of the ball that is uncanny.
I see something quite unusual in the reaction time of safp in the start of the 100, she seems consistently able to react faster and to translate that into an additional advantage by getting her body to also get into position and fire out of the blocks faster than the competition. Is her brain processing the starts hot faster and translating her start action a micro second faster than the competition or is this just pure luck.
Is there an advantage to be gained here. If we were to test our ballers on just a simple reaction time and execute a particular action, like say do a computer test with red, yellow and green lights and you must hit stop, go caution in reaction to the light, what would we find, are our guys consistently slower than Spain national players as that is an area that they use to evaluate players for selection into the national player stream from the teen years.
I think this is an area where significant advantage could be honed and speed and space advantage is gained by ability to execute transactions at a faster speed than your opponent.
Anybody see this as an are of competitive advantage, are the top countries already doing this or something like this, when I see messi and Ronaldo play they are executing multiple transactions at a speed which is unbelievable, the Spanish team consistently making plays in tight spaces which requires something more than just playing together a lot, but selectively winnowing the field of players for specific traits to create highly competitive advantages, combining that with raw speed, desire and youths that can absorb instructions easily without fighting is clearly an area where advantages could be gained for the long run.
