I know how the rankings are computed. Statistically it makes sense.
England (as a team) plays decent futball. But they are certainly not the 3rd best country in the world....ranked even above Italy.
The reason ( i think) is that England has management and executive personnel that are real movers and shakers within FIFA. They can 'fix' things.
Example? In FIFA WC qualification--England is grouped with minnows like...Montenegro, Maldova, San Marino...places you don't easily find on the map.
