    Roma signs Michael Bradley

Roma has completed the signing of U.S. midfielder Michael Bradley from Chievo Verona.

The club confirmed the deal Sunday and said it paid Chievo $4.6 million plus a 50 percent share in Romanian youngster Adrian Stoian.

Bradley has already joined his new teammates at their training camp in Riscone di Brunico.

The 24-year-old American had an impressive season with Chievo last season after moving from Borussia Monchengladbach. He spent the first half of 2011 on loan at Aston Villa.

I am very happy for Bradley.

I recall when he was on the bench for NY MetroStars. Whenever his Dad gave him a few minutes--it was clear that the Boy had potential.

I also recall how some pundits here called him a rux...that he could not make the ReggaeBoyz team...................................

I will hold up my hand and admit I wasn't impressed when he was at the Metrostars. I had the view then that he was getting games because of his dad .... but seeing him on the int'l scene I will admit I was wrong.

Lazie, you are such a 'stand-up' guy.

You need to teach certain pundits on this forum the virtues of admittance.

I have also said it too. The youth has really grown leaps and bound. I didn't understand how he didn't get any game at Aston Villa.

                Bradley delight at Roma switch

US international midfielder Michael Bradley has expressed his delight at moving to Italian giants Roma, describing the move as a "once in a lifetime'' opportunity.

Bradley, 24, completed a €3.75million transfer from Chievo on Sunday, signing a four-year contract at the club.

"I am very happy to be able to play at Roma,'' Bradley told asromanews.it. "This chance only comes once in a lifetime. This club believes in me and I have proved that I am worthy of wearing this shirt."

That might make some sense if he weren't already coming off of an excellent Serie A season with Chievo. He had many suitors.

Michael Bradley: Roma is an exciting challenge

Michael Bradley is looking forward to proving himself on the highest levels of club soccer.

The 24-year-old American midfielder signed with Serie A side Roma on Sunday after standing out last season at Chievo Verona. It was a move Bradley called a "dream" when speaking to reporters on a conference call two days after the four-year deal move became official.

"To be here now and to have the chance to play for Roma, it's something that means an incredible amount to me," Bradley explained. "To be here at a club with so much tradition, so much passion, so much history, this is what I've always dreamed of. Now that I'm here I'm determined to give everything I have to help make this team and help make this club the best it can be."

In Italy he was linked to Inter, AC Milan, Juve, Palermo and Fiorentina.

From outside of Italy there was Monaco and some other clubs that were never revealed.
