Dynamo Dresden of the German Bundesliga 2, with one of the most violent fan bases in Germany, was required to play a "ghost game" in an empty stadium as a penalty for the behavior of its fans. Dynamo Dresden was also fined 100,000 euros.
Dresden fans bought all 41,000 tickets to the game anyway. Many protested outside the stadium, and there were many banners with derisive comments to the German FA (DFB).
Karlsruhe SC, the new team of (*), also faces a similar penalty from DFB after about 200 fans invaded the pitch after losing the Bundesliga 2 relegation playoff last year.
