As far as I am aware this was NOT a camp; it was post a friendly match. My question still stands: What is the purpose of a curfew after such a match? the "law" sometimes can be an ass...

Reggae Boyz "road To Brazil" Begins With Mixed Feeling

REGGAE BOYZ "ROAD TO BRAZIL" BEGINS WITH MIXED FEELING

As the Reggae Boyz start their "Road to Brazil" World Cup qualifying campaign this Friday against Guatemala, Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore, head coach of the national senior outfit, is confident that Jamaica will put up an excellent showing as he has the players capable of getting the job done. Friday's opening CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying game against Guatemala is at the National Stadium in Jamaica at 8:30 pm.

Aldwyn McGill, Soccer Analyst and publisher of Stars Soccer Review Magazine, is also in agreement that Jamaica has the talent and with the experience they should advance in spite of Guatemala’s improve play. Jamaica only real challenge is to beat USA at the Office in Kingston to gain momentum for the rest of the qualifiers. You can read Aldwin’s assessment and CONCACAF 2014WC Qualifer Projections here.

Although Whitmore and the staff of the Jamaica Football Federation is confident that Jamaica will do a good job, a number of supporters are not as confident and are very angry at the team selection after their two recent defeats by Panama in friendly warm up games.

To make matters worse, some went ballistic with anger when Whitmore suspended Marlon King and Chris Humphrey for breaking the team curfew rule in Panama. A release from the JFF makes it clear that his decision is consistent with the head’s Coach’s zero tolerance approach for acts of indiscipline and indiscretion. Chris Humphrey club's website Motherwell, has since released a statement that Humphrey was unaware of Jamaica curfew.

Adding to the confusion, the president of the JFF captain Horace Burrell's, stated in an Eye On SportsTV interview that "this was an UN-WRITTEN RULE". He further stated that it was a "minor offense". When asked why not just FINE the player, since he has never done this before...Burrell stated it was Tappa's right to enforce this un-wriiten rule as he sees fit.

While it is understandable that emotions will get the better of some fans, others have remained level headed, pointing out that the team is actual doing good and that Jamaica's program is finally arriving to the top flight and remain very optimistic that the team will do very well in qualifying as long as all of the players selected are willing to conform to the template being developed

While Whitmore and the JFF have come under fire in recent weeks the management and staff at TheReggaeBoyz.com stands firmly behind coach Whitmore and the players selected and wish the entire team a successful campaign.

The Squad: Donovan Ricketts, Dwayne Miller, Jacomeno Barrett, Demar Phillips, Xavian Virgo, Nyron Nosworthy, Damion Stewart, Adrian Mariappa, Claude Davis, Lovell Palmer, Jermaine Taylor, Rohan Reid, Ewan Grandison, Joel Senior, Errol Stevens, Keammar Daley, Luton Shelton, Ryan Johnson, Ricardo Fuller, Je-Vaughn Watson, Dane Richards, Tremaine Stewart, Rudolph Austin and Jason Morrison.
